Shell Philippines Exploration B.V. (SPEX), its Joint Venture partners and the Malampaya Foundation, Inc. (MFI) joined the Department of Energy in the successful staging of the 5th Bike for a Cause in Taguig City on December 17, 2010 as part of the National Energy Consciousness Month celebration.

The 5th Bike for a Cause gathered a record number of more than 575 bikers from the National Capital Region. Members of bike clubs, professional and neophyte bikers, and hobbyists from Shell companies in the Philippines traversed the 25-kilometre route of the highly-anticipated charity biking event of the season. Each kilometre reached by participating bikers raised Php 20 for the charity fund for organistions and welfare institutions that care for abused and neglected children. A total of Php 289,500 was raised for the cause.
