Prime Infra Chairman, Enrique K. Razon Jr. (EKR) received a very warm welcome from the staff of the Malampaya Shallow Water Platform (SWP) as he landed at its helideck for the first time last November 16, 2022. He was joined by the Prime Energy SLT team, Baste Quinones, Cha Choa, Rene Villafuerte, Kathy Bacosa, Rey Barcebal and Prime Infra President and CEO Guillaume Lucci.

The tour gave EKR and the rest of the group a chance to become acquainted with the technical workings of the SWP. They got a front seat view of the control room that affirmed maximum export is being achieved. At the deck they saw where the 504 km Gas Export Pipeline began, as well as viewed the Depletion Compression Platform and the CALM Buoy.

The visit was very timely as the SWP was celebrating a very important milestone that day, the SWP 1 year Goal Zero Performance. This is their commitment to relentlessly pursue no harm to people and no significant incidents.

Another event EKR got to celebrate was the “SWP Chairman’s Cup,” as he enthusiastically took the honor of the ceremonial first shot for the billiard tournament.

During their casual chat with the team, Baste and GL shared some topline information on what they can expect in the next couple of months, updates on the work being done to obtain license extension or contract renewal. The energized SWP team shared with EKR and the rest of the visitors the confidence they gained about the future continued operation of SPEX upon hearing that Prime Infra was acquiring the company. They became even more animated when EKR spoke candidly about the potential exploration projects. Towards the end of the visit, EKR thanked the team for their continued hard work throughout the uncertainty of the acquisition process “Para sa Bayan.”
